Today we had four members of Sandy Springs Rotary come on and talk about this great service organization. Rotary was founded over 100 years ago in Chicago in order to help the community. Now over 1.2 million members around the world are making a difference in their communities. The first international program this non-political, non-religious group took on was to irradicate polio in the world.
Locally the Sandy Springs Rotary chapter is involved in literacy programs within the area schools. Whether they are donating dictionaries or books or even sitting down and tutoring kids in reading and math. Rotarians are all about service before self. To learn more please go to www.sandyspringsrotary.org They meet every Monday at noon at Hammond Springs and you can join them for a free lunch to see if it is a fit for you.
