Dr. Raj Pandya is Founder and President of the Atlanta Orthopaedic Institute, and prior to that, the Atlanta Knee and Shoulder Clinic. He is a surgeon, inventor and entrepreneur whose breadth of experience spans from healthcare to technology. Dr. Pandya specializes in sports medicine, knee and shoulder surgery. He is Chairman, Founder and CEO of Unicore Health www.unicorehealth.com, and Founder and Chairman of Evolution Orthopedics. He serves as Medical Director and Consultant to global companies and healthcare ventures, and as Team Physician to professional, Olympic and collegiate athletic programs.

As Founder of Unicore Health, Dr. Pandya developed a patented business technology platform that integrates fact-based data sets in multiple verticals including occupational and environmental medicine, biotechnology and healthcare informatics for data warehousing, data mining, and real-time communication. The company’s solutions transform physical disabilities into work capabilities, and define best practice protocols for injury, disease and risk management. These include applications for injured employee’s to return to work, soldiers to find gainful employment, and athletes to return to play. Dr. Pandya has developed innovative medical devices and applications for advanced minimally invasive musculoskeletal surgery as Founder of Evolution Orthopedics.

He has served as Medical Advisor for Neurotech, and National Speaker/Consultant to a number of global pharmaceutical corporations including Pfizer, Janssen, Fering and Transdermal Therapeutics. He conducts a number of clinical trials and serves on numerous advisory boards. He is a noted lecturer in medicine and entrepreneurship. He is on the teaching faculty of Atlanta Medical Center, and Morehouse School of Medicine. His interests include cartilage repair and regeneration, meniscal transplantation, business technology and medicine. He is involved in local and international and charitable projects, including the American Diabetes Association and the Chattahoochee River Keepers.

Dr. Pandya has served as Team Physician for the Georgia Force of the Arena Football League, Team Physician for the US National and Olympic Handball Teams, Physician for the Sugar Bowl, Physician for the SEC Championship Game, Physician for the ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament, Physician for the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour, Orthopedic Consultant for the NFL Europe, Team Physician for Life University, Physician for the US Indoor Track and Field Championships and Medical Director of the Georgia Games. He was also Physician for movies and televison series including “We Are Marshal,” “Million Dollar Arm,” and “Necessary roughness.”

Dr. Pandya graduated with honors from the accelerated BS/MD program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and was selected to the Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha honor societies. He has completed both the Swiss AO Trauma Fellowship, and a sports medicine fellowship with Dr. James Andrews and Dr. William Clancy at the world-renowned American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham.

 

 

Tracey Paulfrey, educator, motivator, leader and entrepreneur. This fitness enthusiast has 21 years of personal training experience, with an extensive history in biological sciences.  She is a unique trainer who has combined basic science principles, biomechanics,technology and education to completely service her client base. Her desire to complete the Health and Wellness circle through a global approach has given her a successful platform that integrates medicine and fitness.
Tracey graduated from the University Of Florida with a B.A. in Health Sciences and is certified through various certifying agents such as NASM, ACSM and AFAA.  Tracey currently serves as a Lead Instructor for the Personal Training Program at the Atlanta School of Massage and currently personal trains at the Concourse Athletic Club in Atlanta, Georgia.

Grant is a former US Army Ranger, author of A Night in the Pech Valley and a combat veteran with five deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan in the War on Terrorism. Upon graduation in 2006 from the University of Alabama with a degree in finance, Grant McGarry reported to Fort Benning with an enlistment contract “for the hardest thing the Army has to offer.” Following his graduation from the Ranger Indoctrination Program Grant was assigned to the 1st Ranger Battalion in Savannah Georgia. Following the completion of his enlistment in 2011, he was a civilian security contractor at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad. Upon his return to the U.S., Grant was hired by The Coca-Cola Company and served as the Atlanta chapter president of the military veteran’s business resource group. The Carvajalino sisters are 3 young Colombian entrepreneurs, authors, trainers, motivational speakers, and investors. They started doing business with $15 when they were 6, 7 and 8 years old and founded Chococar, a chocolate company. One year later, they gave their first lecture and started their careers as motivational speakers. They founded Quality Line, a training company for the educational and corporate sectors and have trained numerous companies, universities and schools around the world. At ages 13, 14 and 15 the young entrepreneurs published Parents and Coaches, a book that provides parents with very helpful and essential information on how to raise an entrepreneur. In 2012, they created a family investment group that operates in different industries. Len Pagano is a social entrepreneur who has spent over 30 years developing communication programs that address key issues across North America. As President, CEO and founder of Safe America, Mr. Pagano launched the 501(c) 3 organization with a $1 million grant from the Travelers Insurance Foundation.

In its early days, Safe America focused on highway safety issues with Operation Baby Buckle, a child protection program that has distributed over 150,000 infant/child car seats to disadvantaged families across the United States.

Mr. Pagano then organized a ‘Safe Team Coalition’ that was recognized by General Motors (GM) for its work. Innovative safety education programs followed which addressed emerging issues. These included initiatives in teen driver education, water safety, cyber-safety, homeland security, youth safety and disaster readiness.

Through Len’s leadership, the Safe America Foundation has developed educational and practical safety and preparedness programs for businesses and communities. These include safety product distribution, national youth programming, international travel security, and advocating that non-profit organizations screen volunteers (to avoid predatory activities by adults).  His accomplishments include raising over $30 million for injury prevention initiatives and engaging organizations including Porsche North America, the Woodruff, Motorola and UPS Foundations along with the National PTA, Allstate, Wal-Mart, Chevrolet, Verizon, State Farm, NBC/Comcast, USA TODAY, Sprint, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and a variety of public safety and government agencies at state and national levels.

Andrew Land / Human Right Campaign

Andrew C. Land is a Realtor in Atlanta, Georgia.  He was twice graduated from Clemson University with degrees both in business management and history. Following a decade in nonprofit development, management, and consulting, Land plunged full-time into real estate brokerage in the metropolitan Atlanta area.  He is still active with several nonprofit entities, including the Atlanta Clemson Club, the Atlanta History Center, Emory University, and the Human Rights Campaign, for which he serves on a regional steering committee and on its national Board of Governors. An avid armchair historian, he regularly speaks about and has written extensively on the history of Atlanta and particularly the impacts of Robert W. Woodruff, longtime head of The Coca-Cola Company.

For more than 16 years, Todd Shifflet served as a key member of the management team at one of the most successful community health centers in South Carolina, and the nation. In that time, he served as the lead in garnering the funding as well as organizing and implementing the strategies that resulted in increased access to more than 16,000 new patients. He also served as architect of the organization’s corporate compliance; community health worker; communications; and private sector fundraising strategies – among other successes. He earned a Master of Arts degree from Winthrop University and has received several trainings and certificates in community health. He has served on many local and state boards, including the Byerly Foundation, the Butler Heritage Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, SC Rural Health Association, and several others. He has also received numerous accolades and awards for his work improving community health including a legislative resolution from the State of South Carolina for his tireless efforts to improve the health and life care system in the northeast region of the state. He joined Georgia Highlands Medical Services as its new CEO this year and has made some significant accomplishments – including a $1 million dollar grant to renovate and open a new specialty center in Forsyth County – over the past several months. He is married to Alex Gossett Shifflet and is the father of twins, Grace and Whitman.

Megan Bowman provides nearly 20 years of progressive nonprofit leadership experience in the fields of executive management, philanthropy, and media relations. She began her career working in marketing and media relations for two trade associations in Washington, DC. In 1999, Bowman accepted the role of Executive Director of the Prince William County Chapter of the American Red Cross in Virginia. During her time there, Bowman transformed the struggling office into a strategic leadership chapter within the country, and was invited to participate in executive leadership and planning sessions at the national Red Cross headquarters office in DC.Bowman received the prestigious Gail B. Kettlewell Leadership Award for her management of the Red Cross response to the 9-11 Attack on the Pentagon, where she helped to orchestrate the organization’s largest disaster response in history. Since that time, Bowman has held other senior management positons for the Red Cross in development and, in 2003, created her own independent nonprofit consulting firm called Bowman Development Solutions. Her clients have included theFoster Care Support Foundation, Mommy’s Light, Angels Among Us Pet Rescue, and West Chester Public Library in Philadelphia. Today, Bowman serves as the Development Director of Angels Among Us Pet Rescue based in Atlanta. Her goal is to expand the organization’s development program beyond social media support alone. Bowman earned both an undergraduate degree in communications and public relations and a master’s degree in nonprofit management with a concentration in Philanthropy from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. She has been married to her husband, Andrew, for 17 years, and has three daughters ranging in age from 7-12. In her limited spare time, Bowman enjoys exercise, cooking, travel, and spending time with her family, including their two rescue dogs, Luna and Jake. She resides in Milton, GA

Married (Jeanie). Graduated from Chamblee High School; attended DeKalb Junior College (now Perimeter College) and Georgia State (before it was a university). Moved to Atlanta in 1959 from Kentucky (pre-date I-285). Selected to the Chamblee High School Hall of Fame.

Business: Executive Director – Special Pops Tennis since 2005 and also employed by Cobb County School District in Transportation Department since 2011 as school bus monitor for the special needs students.

Special Pops Tennis: Founding member of Special Pops Tennis; elected to the Board of Directors in 2005. Chairman of the United States Tennis Association – Southern section Special Populations sub-committee; Member of the Special Olympics North America Tennis Development Committee; Tennis Coach of Team USA – Southeast Region at the 2003 Special Olympics Summer World Games in Dublin, Ireland; Head Coach of Team USA – 2011 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Athens, Greece; recipient of the USTA Southern Section Adaptive Tennis Community Service Award; Tommy Nobis Foundation Philanthropy Award; Atlanta Alliance on Developmental Disabilities Vital Service Award; and Cobb County and Cherokee County Volunteer of the Year; Atlanta Falcon Community Service award.
