Ashley Carestia / Bark Fifth Avenue
Founder

Ashley Daniele Carestia is a Florida native and has been a successful fashion model since age four.  She is currently signed with CLICK models and has been making headlines and covers with her new business venture, Bark Fifth Avenue LLC, a luxury dog boutique in Buckhead Atlanta. With Ashley’s strong passion for fashion and dogs, she has created a world where upscale pet owners can treat their four-legged family members to only the best in fashion, travel, and accessories.

Walking runways and dressing pets are things that Ashley has done since childhood.   As a model turned CEO, she balances work, play, and family life in Buckhead with her husband, prominent litigator Michael Carestia. The two were married in 2015 in Bora Bora. Ashley has her degree in Nutrition & Exercise Science, which she decided to change after three years of pre-law.  She felt very “Legally Blonde” during her path toward her legal career, so she refocused her course of studies.

Today, she serves as Proprietor of Bark Fifth Avenue and continues her career as a fashion model. Ashley started Bark Fifth Avenue in 2013 as an online boutique and opened her first brick and mortar in October 2015. Since then she has been asked to sponsor many pet events including Star 94.1’s famous Woofstock where she was the sponsor of the VIP (Very Important Paws) area and the Atlanta Pet Expo where she took on the sponsorship and creation of their VIP area. Ashley has graced several covers of local area magazines and is now the fashion columnist for Atlanta Pet Life magazine where she writes about current trends in the pet fashion world. In addition to her various commitments and world travels, Ashley is involved socially and politically in Atlanta.  She supports many charitable and church organizations, including The Humane Society, GlobalX, and Angels Among Us. She currently serves as a mentor at Woodson Park Academy through her church at Northpoint Ministries (Buckhead Church).

Ashley lives by the motto that “Everything happens for a reason” and the philosophy that “Money will never make you happy. Love your friends, love your family, and love the things that make you happy. Have morals and values. Hold strong to the things you believe in.  If puppies, glitter, and rainbows make you truly happy, then chase those as they are more attainable.  Most importantly, love yourself and never let anyone ever make you feel bad about yourself.” Ashley’s determination to succeed as well as her sense of humor and spirituality allow her to live life to the fullest.

Upon transferring I enlisted into the Georgia Army National Guard where I served 6 years as a 31B or Military Police. I graduated from Basic and AIT from Fort Leonardwood Missouri. After graduating basic I served in the 178th MP Co, 190th MP Co, 179th MP Co. In 2011-2012 I deployed to Bagram Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. I also deployed in 2013-2014 with the 179th MP Co to Kabul Afghanistan doing Security Escorts and Quick Reaction Forces also in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. I was honorably discharged from the  Georgia Army National Guard in 2015 as a SGT. I am currently a Marketing Mentor in the Atlanta office for Power Home Remodeling Group. Damon Gabriel / Power Home Remodeling
Quality Assurance Manager
Originally From Seattle Washington, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps when I was 17. Shortly after graduation from High School I shipped out for boot camp in San Diego California.
After a full work up with my unit I deployed to Afghanistan in the spring of 2010. While on deployment I was struck by IEDs twice which ultimately lead to the end of my unfortunately short Marine Corps career. I sustained severe spinal injuries due to the strikes and was not able to re-enlist in 2012 as the Marine Corps felt I was no longer fit for duty in my occupation.
After transitioning out of the Marine Corps in 2012, my girlfriend at the time who is now my wife and I decided to move to Atlanta to start our new lives. She is originally from Atlanta so it was nice to have her family here to help us out while we got on our feet.
I had a job prior to working for Power for about a year but I never really got that sense of purpose that I had while in the Corps. I was laid off in the end because of industry regulation that destroyed the small company I was working for at that time and within two weeks I had found Power.
When I started with Power I was in the entry level marketing position which served me really well while I was getting immersed in the culture and figuring my life out. Right from the start I knew I was going to love working here because of the commradarie you could feel in the office. It felt very similar to the Marine Corps and I really liked that.
As time went on I found myself in a management position in the marketing department and then was able to be promoted and transferred into the sales department where within a year I was mentoring our new consultants and helping to develop our leadership/and office.
Now adays I’m married to my beautiful wife Samantha and we have a home in Brookhaven that we share with our son Theo… I say share because it has quickly become his house and we just live there, clean it and pay the bills!.. As for my Career with Power I’m in the Quality Assurance department as a manager where I go out to our active installs and ensure that our customers are having the five star experience that we talk about during our initial consultation and make sure that all our products are going in per spec.

From the moment we purchased Lenny’s Sub Shop we chose to be a community minded business. We are fortunate that as a restaurant we can use food to support many different causes. We have learned that one key to small business success is concentrating efforts on what business owners can do for the community and not the other way around. Please find a partial list of contributions below.

Lenny’s separates itself from the competition by offering delicious food, generous food portions, service like a full service restaurant, great catering model and a happy smile and greeting every time you visit.

Lenny’s separates itself from other Lenny’s by community involvement, networking, marketing, social media and active involvement in the restaurant. Customers enjoy coming into Lenny’s and seeing the owners actively participating in the business…not just Donna and Bruce…children David, Ashley and Jack. We are a family run business that is also community minded.

One of our goals at Lenny’s is to use Fortune 500 skills and techniques in a small business. We strive to do that every day.

KSU Entrepreneurship Center Presents The Shrimp Tank

KSUEntrepreneurship

Where can a young entrepreneur figure out how to turn their dreams into reality? Just take a step into the Shrimp Tank. The Shrimp Tank brings you interviews with some of the most successful business owners in the United States to learn the do’s and don’ts of starting and running a successful business. Then, the fun really starts when we bring in high school and college students to pitch their business ideas to the Shrimp Tank. We don’t fund any business, but we do teach kids how to turn their business ideas into a successful business.

Hosts of The Shrimp Tank Chris Hanks and Ted Jenkin.

Zach Zelner / Penny Delivers

In 2012, Zach dropped out of his freshman year at Florida State University and launched a cookie delivery startup out of his apartment with $124 in capital. In the years following, Zach independently bootstrapped company growth to 3 retail locations across Florida and over 100 employees making 30,000+ deliveries/month.
His background in delivery was the inspiration to launch Penny, a 1¢ restaurant delivery startup and full-service delivery outsourcing system. Since June 2015, Penny has exploded into a team of 185 drivers and $8MM in revenue. When Penny expanded to Atlanta in 2016, Zach and his team relocated from Florida and set up HQ in Midtown where they currently operate.
